The governor’s special assistant on youths and students Afeez Bolaji a.k.a Repete in a Facebook post apologized for the governor’s reaction.

He said the governor who has now become a laughing stock on social media reacted due to provocation by the students.

“He is not perfect, many critics will do worst if they happen to be in his shoes,” he wrote.

Mr Bolaji who himself is a product of LAUTECH said his loyalty lies with the government but “ greater loyalty lies with the institution.”

It would be recalled that governor Ajimobi once asked secondary school students in Oyo state to beg him after their schools were shut.

He also wished the students "happy resumption in advance" an indication that the school might resume academic activities soon.
