Matriculated Students In Tertiary Institutions Not Allowed To Buy JAMB UTME Forms

Further to the directives given to Direct Entry Not Sitting for UTME, The Joint Admission Matriculation Board has stated that students who are already matriculated in any tertiary institutions will not be allowed to purchase or sit for the UTME Examinations.

According to the registrar Prof Ishaq, Oloyede “Students with matriculation numbers of universities are not eligible to sit for the UTME. If they are not satisfied with their chosen disciplines, they can ask for transfer.”

On the issues of extension of deadline due to hitches, he said, “We registered 600,000 candidates in 10 days and if we go on at this pace, it means we would have registered 1.2million in 20 days.

We want Nigerians to be patient and every eligible candidate will be registered by April 19, when the registration will close.”

In a lay mans understanding all candidates who are either in Polytechnics, Colleges Or Universities who has done their matriculation are not allowed to register for UTME examinations, its either advised the candidates should apply for Direct Entry after his or her 100Level or get a transfer from his or her institution.
