IGP reveals why police is delaying trial of kidnapper Evans

The real reason notorious kidnapper, Chukwudidumeme Onwuamadike, better known as Evans is yet to stand trial for his crimes has been revealed by the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.
Speaking at a lecture which centered on proffering solutions to security challenges in Lagos, the IGP revealed that the police is making sure to conduct thorough investigations into Evans’ case so anybody involved will be brought to book.
The IGP said; “Evans will be charged to court very soon. This is a man who has over the years been involved in kidnapping, collecting money in millions of dollars and harassing Nigerians from the various parts of the country.
“What we are doing now is to ensure that we conduct thorough investigations so that anybody involved will be brought to book.
“It seems kidnapping is becoming attractive to the youth. The more we arrest, the more they are coming up. But I believe that with special courts, this will be addressed,” he added.
About four weeks ago, Evans was transferred to the ‘VIP wing’ of the police cell at the Force Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCIID), Garki, in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja after he was moved there for further findings into his case.
Evans and his accomplices were transferred by men of the IG Intelligence Response Team on the express instructions of the Inspector General of Police, in order to ensure proper and unhindered investigation into his criminal activities.
